Which NEA ar15 should I buy?

So, which NEA do I buy? they make many models

why choose 10 inch, 14 inch, etc ?

what sights do I put on it? (I dont really want a scope on it, it would be for 100 yards or less)

what about stag arms vs NEA

Between the Stag and NEA, the biggest difference you will notice is for comparable price points, one comes with a quad rail and the other does not. One has a chrome-lined bore with a .223 Wylde chamber, the other is nitrided with a 5.56 chamber. For practical purposes, you won't notice a difference between chrome and nitride or chamber dimensions.

The NEA does not come with sights but they offer Troy folding sights as an option. By the time you add them, the base Stag M4 clone (16" bbl) and the base NEA 14.5" M4 copy with Troy Sights will be close to the same price, so buy whichever tickles your fancy.

Both are backed by lifetime warranties as far as I know.
 
14.5", it's the best balanced rifle in my opinion.

Snag yourself an EoTech E12.A65. AA batteries are easy to find and that is the best priced EoTech.

If Claven2's numbers are correct, which no doubt they are, it's a no-brainer. Buy the Stag.

-Higher quality
-Nicer finish (subjective)
-Better re-sale value if you ever wish to dispose of it.

I have nothing against NEA, they've just had too many hiccups in terms of initial quality for me to feel comfortable buying any AR they build for the time being. Perhaps, a year or so from now, they'll get the bugs worked out. To their credit, they've been very responsive with customer issues and that says a lot.

If you look at the number of rifles we've built and the number of issues it's a very small percent. However everyone that's 100% happy doesn't take the time to create a new post about it like those that may have an issue. That being said, we've never had a customer come to us with a problem that wasn't satisfied after we made it right.

It helps keep prices competitive, it (hopefully) gets more people out to matches and it strengthens the AR community as a whole.

That being said.. buy a NEA and you get a few features the Stag doesn't give you right out of the box. Better price, more versatile and a lifetime warranty (that you can rectify quickly). Not to mention, Jwire will likely step on a kitten out of spite..

I do not understand why you have to be so defencive of your product. If your product is that good the market will do the talking on how good it is. I think your version of the AR was put to market to fast without the proper R&D, but once again time will tell.

i agree. too rushed and quality was sacrificed for quantity. my $.02

oh and why lash out at jwire? wont buy your stuff?
 
How was I defensive? In fact I think I offered that as long as he bought 'any' AR we'd be happy.

QC issues weren't because of it being rushed. Just new production issues. It happens, you just have to address it quickly and learn from it.

14.5 is our most popular rifle. 10.5 is my personal favorite, with the Patrol Carbine (14.5bll w/ 9" rail) a close second. For sights we can supply Troy BUIS sights. But most prefer some sort of optic like a Aimpoint. The SPARC is a good low cost alternative. Vortex optics also have a lifetime warranty, so with our rifle and their optic you should be set.

Yes, I gave them my design - so what? Go read my post. I didn't tell the OP to buy an NEA Mr. BC Tactical employee ;)
 
Well this is going down hill fast! I respect the heck out of NEA, for a relatively small business to tackle making a firearm, let along an evil AR, is nothing short of spectacular. Back to the OP question, I have shot a Stag Arms and was quite impressed. Shot a Dlask Arms AR and liked the way the Stag Arms shot better. No experience with an NEA as I haven't seen to much of them over in BC. :D :HR:
