Having read several posts on Norinco's I'm thinking of getting back into handguns. Could I get a quick list of which Norc's to buy and which to avoid.
I have a pile of 9mm ammo so that's what I'm after.

Thanks

Well it seems the NP-29 is the best bet out there.Good shooters out of the box and tons of after market stuff for them:)

NP-29 was good, I used to own one and wish I didn't sell it. I hear the CZ's are good and the m-77b and NP-20 are not bad. Most NP-22's are supposedly good, but a bunch had cracked rails a while back so that is a bit hit and miss. I fired the norc tokarov before, and that was pretty cool, terrible trigger tho. the 1911's all seem to have a good rep.

The hi-power copy is supposed to suck, the M-93 woodsman is very hit and miss, it either works good or like a piece of crap.

CZ copies are good, 1911 copies are good. Sig copies have had some reported problems. Most don't like the Hi-power copies. Some like the "Chinese Military" for its unusual features.

The people here are just a bunch of opinionated a$$holes that speak from widely varying experience, and many just parrot what other people say. Buy the one you want and stop asking parrots. Good luck and I hope you have many happy hours shooting whatever you buy.

PS. buy a NP-29 or your a fool. ;)

Well aren't you just a ray of ####ing sunshine...

Pricing

I see that Marstar has NP-29's for $350. Is this the best deal going ? When I look at the EE forum Norc's seem to be priced higher ? I'm a little confused.

Well I am just a oppinionated ####### but it all depends on what comes with it.For example I just bought a new np29 from Marstar for 350 and it includes one mag.I also just bought a np29 off a gunnut for 400.00 but it had a few more mags and accessories.

I paid over $ 400 for a used NP29 and I don't regret that purchase ONE bit. Better yet.... I'm so glad that people ain't rushing out to buy this jewel in the Norinco lineup. I'm saving up for another NP29 right now. Yes, it's the best deal going.

I can't speak for the other Norinco knockoff SIG or BHP or CZ or Woodsman, but they did a great job with the 1911's.

Like their M14 clones, the price for the NP29 is very good for the product you get. Also very good for the potential in the product you get. Yes, there are rough edges all over, but a couple of passes through the sandblaster and a dunk in the parkerizing tank solved that situation.

I love my NP29 that CGNutter timglayn sold me... what a great guy !!

Don't overlook the 1911A1 Government they sell either. It's as good as the NP29, just in .45 instead of 9mm which is kinda cool (though more pricey to shoot).
