which norinco?

Which norc shotguns have the tendency to blow up? the hp-9 or? I remember one in particular was having issues

To my knowledge none of them have a tendency to blow up. The Norinco 780 Homeland Security has the reputation of being utter crap and falling apart almost immediately. Other than that disaster, just about everything Norinco has a stellar reputation of reliability and durability. Manufacturing quality also seams to be top-notch, though Norincos are sometimes looser and often have a mediocre fit and finish. They seem to go bang everytime, though.

The 780's are known for problems. The 780's also are not compatible with a lot of Rem 870 Parts. The HP9 is a decent gun and will accept Rem parts. Hope that helps.

[Nine]

I've had 2 HP-9's, one 12.5" griz and now a 8.5" PD8-SB. (tube fed) They all have been great, only downfall is the thin thin finish.
