Which NR Rifle and why?

I dont want to be a total Ass but... what is with all the mall ninja's talk and vids?
Is it a black Rifle thing? I mean come on, A trained man with a .22 is more effective than a un-trained man with a swiss arms/tavor/xcr etc.... Just because someone has a lesser firearm does not mean they are below people in skill. Also post counts mean :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:.

There are men and women out there that are beyond what any of us could ever be with all the bush training and camo gear we have.

Sorry gents for the rant but enough is enough. Mall ninja overload in this thread.

And no I dont play war I just like to shoot and have a good time.

Again sorry, but a few post got me going. RELAX and hope you never have to fire a round in a real war people.

That is a bit harsh IMO.

Yes, but again, harsh ;)

Yep

Hmmm

Then say nothing and read only that which helps you :)

Thanks for the advice, I'll relax now...

Back on topic...

I'm looking to pick up an XCR-L with both a .223 and 6.8 conversion. Something fun to shoot, and yet still something that can be used for hunting.

As I posted earlier I have both of these in complete uppers I find I hardly ever mount the 223 upper now that I have the 6.8spc dialed in with extremely accurate plinking and hunting load.

I am not one for just blasting away I work up my loads for accuracy then basically hunt with them = I'm not blasting off hundreds of rounds in a day so the expense of the 6.8 over 223 rounds doesn't equate/matter too me.

Been thinking of geting rid of my restricted rifles. Will it be worth switching or trading the Noveske 14.5" w/ SwitchBlock for one of these Swiss Arms Black Special??

Interesting, I'm transitioning out of all my restricted firearms as well as I don't enjoy going to "the range". As ARs (even nice ones) are far more plentiful than Black Specials for sale I would imagine you're going to need another four figures in cash if you can find a Black Special for sale eventually. Whether you should do it or not, that's personal but I don't see how one can go wrong with a SA.

Its always entertaining when the sole criteria up for discussion with these types of rifles is accuracy. 1.5 - 2MOA is more than good enough as a standard and they will all do that with garbo ammo.
That's a 10" group at 500m. The question is can YOU hold 2MOA? We all know the rifles in question can. Give a good shooter any one of these rifles and he will produce hits.

Imho far more important questions when grading service rifles are:

- Durability: How tough is this thing? Is it gonna rattle apart or run until the end of time?
- Reliability: Does it run or is it a Jam-o-matic?
- Ergonomics: Can you operate it quickly and efficiently?
- Serviceability: Easy to maintain? Simple to field strip? Clean?
- Construction and design: Is it soldier proof? How solid is it?

If your sole intent is tiny groupings from a bench, you're looking at the wrong type of firearm.

A big thank you goes out to you for saying what needed to be said about all this accuracy stuff. These are service rifles and as such are not designed for bench rest accuracy. If that is what you want then you're looking in the wrong thread. Nuf said.

Alright So just an update of what i picked. I'm going to go with a tavor when the local shop gets one in... but in the mean time, I got this to pass the time :D (the handgun is just a partner i've had it for a while)

Thanks to everyone's input :) it really helped in my decision. I chose to not go with the swiss arms because its just sooo long compared to the tavor, i sold my NR KRISS for that very reason. This kriss however.... is not too long at all :)

Me too, I can't wait to get one!!! I would prefer the SAPR but oh well. That'll hopefully come some day!

I seriously cannot wait for the SAPR evaluation to come back from the RCMP Lab. The FAMEA 742 is the second option, but I'm hoping the SAPR becomes available 1st.

Re your SAN - have you considered at some point in getting the mag well adapter so to be able to use LAR mags? With the amount of rounds you're putting through yours, I really don't know what you're waiting for. You've got the mag changes down really efficiently, but if LARs are a possibility, why not go with them instead?

lol Very funny Sir, very funny.

This is the Black Rifle section man, you should know that every guy in here is a SOF operative that can shoot sub MOA at 400 meters standing on their head with a plastic semi auto service rifle.......TACTICAL!!!!! ;)

I'm actually contemplating the blasphemous idea of selling my AR to help fund one of the NR guns, probably a Swiss. It's got to be worth a lot, it was personally assembled by Eugene Stoner and was used by Delta operatives in Mogadishu and by Seal Team Six more recently. A DDM4V5 for a Swiss should be a straight trade and I should come out with enough money left over for a decent optic, right? ;)

Let me guess... it may or may not have shot Bin Laden?
