Which of your shotguns would you choose if you needed to legally shoot down a small drone?

Of my non Blackface prohibited shotguns, 20" Mossberg 590S with ghost ring, 28" Beretta A300 bead and a Turk Sinisatti box mag pump with RDS and BUIS, I'm pondering which one would be best.

All have removable chokes.

It's not tactical but I think I'd choose the Beretta with a full choke and 3" game load #6 lead shot.

Yes sure, shotguns became popular now shooting down drones, I think there are better options, shotguns have a very limited range - maybe UKR are such bad shots that shotguns is all they can handle. Even using jammaticos Turkey ones.

A300, cheap 2³" #7½ target would be ample.

One chipped propeller or severed wire would send it down

It wouldn't take much to bring one down, if you can hit it it will fall.
The only advantage of heavier shot over light shot is the better range but most people can't hit anything moving at any distance with a shotgun anyway.

12 gauge and, for once in my life on a wing shot, voluntarily using a full choke. Full brass, ie heavier load, #6 or #7 1/2 would do it.

You can't shoot down drones if they have a permit to fly over.
You should shoot down drones spying in your window or on back yard sunbathers.

I'd have a go with my 1301 Comp.
I've been thinking about buying a few of those little cheapo drones to give it a go.

I do have a better option if I had to down one. I also fly rc heli and my 700 would eat up a drone no problem. They'd both be wrecked but its just nutz and bolts to fix

940 Pro Turkey with a modified extended choke...worked really well for Trap/Skeet, and I'm a rookie.

With a magtube extension, 3.5" 12 ga magnum shells would get it done. Turkey loads can reach way out there when properly choked.

Something with a vent rib, and either BBs or #4 buckshot. Rifle sights would be a huge hindrance IMO.

870 Supermag. Not my favourite shotgun, but it has a 28" barrel and a 26" magazine tube. It can be pretty fun sometimes. Holds a bunch.

Better make sure it is the tungsten shot of choice .
Those pesky drones can be very tough to deal with you know.
