You aren't likely to get the same level of accuracy from each caliber in the same model of gun. One model may be much more accurate in .17 over the .22, or vice-versa. It depends on what the gun likes, not which caliber it uses.but if you only shoot targets; same rifle, same quality, same barrel...etc.

Fact is, the 17's are loaded with better bullets overall. Premium jacketed jobbies. There aren't many WMR 'accuracy loads' out there.
I'm not a believer in 'inherent accuracy' but it's hard to argue with the amazing groups the 17's are capable of out of the box.
