I'm looking for experienced guy's opinion...
I need to chose between three handguns in .45ACP but since I don't have much
experience with pistols so please let me know which one is better:
CZ 97B
Springfield XD
Sig Sauer P220

Thanks in advance
Zygy

i am quite partial to the sig. i don't own one in .45 but have a friend who does. I believe he has his tuned and serviced here locally by joe dlask. I love my 40sw and 9mm sig's. But for a .45 i will not be swayed by any other design than the tried and true 1911.
i'm not a fan of the springfield but not schooled enough to comment on it. Had a bad experience with one of thier pistols that was a total lemon.

From the handguns on your list I would recommend the Sig 220 in .45 ACP. I have a European (heel release) version that I bought in the mid-80's and it is one of my favourites. Durable, reliable, quick and easy to field strip and extremely accurate! Don't have much experience with Springfield. Handle the CZ before you commit to buy because the grip may not fit everyone.

If you are on a budget, get the XD. If you want the best, in my opinion, get the Sig. Also, dont forget that 45acp ammo can be a bit pricier so factor that in when choosing a gun. There is nothing worse than buying a gun and then not being able to afford to feed it.

From the list, I would go with the Sig as well.

Each gun will have a slightly different feel so be sure to at least hold each one to test the grip.

If possible, see if your local ranges have some testers you can shoot to get a better idea of how they feel overall.

Good luck with the purchase.

From your list the SIG is the best.
But for the same (or even less) price you can get single-action 1911 like SW1911 if you need the real accuracy.

Well, you asked which one is better.... And I would ask you, better at (or for) what? Those are 3 very different guns in very different price ranges. And they are actually all very well respected gun in their own right.

Are you looking for simply "the best" or "the best bang for your buck", etc...?

my XD in 45 was the softest shooting 45 I've ever used, and very accurate as well. Also, with the substantial savings over the sig, you can buy lots of ammo. I like sigs, but find them to big in my hands to be really comfortable with them.....
