My friend has 2 of these guns and told me he would sell one to me. The Stoeger is newish and the Baikal has ejectors and a single trigger. Pretty new also. 2 boxes through it. I like ejectors and 1 trigger. But I want to buy the better of the two as he said the same price for either. Are one of these more problematic than the other long term? Anything to look out for?
They both fit me perfectly so its really up to what gun is better for the money. I have never owned an O/U , just single shots, pumps, semi's, and 2 SxS's.
I will just use it for Grouse and ptarmigan and rabbits. Done really care about chokes either way. Removable or fixed dont care. I always hit what I aim at no matter what the gun is choked at as I rarely need a long shot.

The Baikal is probably the more robust of the two. The Stoeger would probably have easier access to parts & service if it was ever needed. Chokes would be a lot easier to get but you have said you don't care about chokes.

Baikal's are made like tanks, nothing special to look at and balance like a 2x4 but they go bang very time you pull the trigger. The Stoeger are much more softer built and known for there problems. Baikal would be my choice out of the two.

I would rather own an old Cooey single shot than either of those choices. I have seen issues with Stoeger firing pins, and parts are not easy to find for Baikal.

Shot both. They shoot OK but the Condor will fall apart in a year or two. You can run over the Baikel with a truck and still shoot it. Baikel is the best value for that price out there.

I currently have a Baikal as a spare.
Shoot it every now and then.
Not the prettiest, but it works.
I would say more robust than the Condor.
My 2 cents

I bought a Stoeger in 1999. It’s still going strong. For what I paid for it, I can’t complain. It’s fired 10000 rounds probably by now. I gave it to my BIL. He is still hunting and clay shooting with it. I replaced it with a Citori Silver Hunter.

Personally I would buy either one, but I have seen a mountain of problems with Stoegers O/U cracked stocks, loose selector switches, bad firing pins, bad threads on choke tubes, At our club most that buy one regret it, and deal it shortly

My Condor cracked the first stock at about 600 rounds. The second stock made it almost 24 more rounds before it cracked. That was it for me. I sold it and bought a Beretta. If I had to buy a cheap gun again I would buy the Baikal...
