Hi! My girl friend and I started shooting clays last week-end and find it hard to wait next week-end to shoot again . Now I would like to know if you had between 500-800 and 1000 to 2500$ to spend on a O/U which one would you get?

In the 500 - 800 range, I would cruise the exchange for a nice used shotgun, but I'd go with a semi auto beretta 391. You can get a very nice one for that money.


If in the higher range of 1000 to 2500, you can get into some quite nice o/u shotguns, especially, again, on the exchange.
Get two - one for each of you for under 2 grand.

New, look at the Fabarms (there is a review by Claybuster on these).

A Winchester 101 with the cones opened up a bit would be a nice gun for around 1K, but probably no chokes, just fixed Full and Modified. It would work just fine for a lot of clay games, but not all.

Some of the Stoegers look nice, but IMHO do not last too long.

At the upper end of 2500 you could easily buy a new Beretta or Browning o/u with chokes. Lots of options for 2.5K!
 
I know i will take some heat for this but I really like the Ruger Red Labels ( I used a Woodside) for Skeet......nice pointing gun and not that expensive
 
My girlfriend want to know what would you think of a Stoeger Condor in the range of 500-800$? Are they good for the price or she risk to have problem with these shotgun

go to a gun shop and try several to your shoulder and if you can get out to a range with someone who has the guns you are looking at even better , how it feels to you and fit are more imortant than the brand, Browning , winchester, ruger , beretta all make nice guns , find the one you like and go for it
 
Nothing in the under $ 800 range, unless it was a good "used" deal.
These entry level guns are just that ... entry level. Don't be in such
a hurry, wait, save & buy something you'll be satisfied with for years.

For the "extra money" category, tough to beat a Browning or Beretta.
Look at a Citori XS Sporting or XS Special or a Beretta S686E.

All are good solid guns that you can pound thousands of shells through and
hold their value well. Get a 30-incher ... you can shoot virtually
all the target games with any of the three.
