Ruger 77 Hawkeye, tikka t3 battue, husqvarna 1640, Zastava LKM 70(in price order from higher to lower).... they are not all the same price of course but all in 9.3x62.....
I like the idea of the battue for its compactness, but I like classic rifles with wood and CRF.... all have open sights!
What do you think?
I don’t know much about the 1640 and I don’t know if it as a good reputation and if they are good rifles!
I know Ruger and tikka have a strong reputation!
And zastava mixed of love and hate amongst cgn’ers !!

I guess you are referring to the M77 African model? That is the one that I would go with, by a good bit.

I didn’t handle lots of zastava, but the one I had in my hand was a god one!!
As for the Ruger I think it would also be my first choice, but the price is definitely the limiting factor!!
As for the tikka, I’ve never owned one but I know lots and lots of people up here that do and one or two own the battue in 30-06 and it seems to be pretty reliable!

Spend the money and get the rifle you like the best. Use it the rest of your days and enjoy it. The extra cost will be worth it.

In that calibre I would go with the Ruger, I also like Husqvarnas, I had a 9.3 in a Zastava that I did not care for and I am not partial to Tikkas and I have owned a few, the only plus for the Tikka for me is the light weight for carrying, I would not be bothered by the recoil of a 9.3.

I have never been fond of the tikka factory stock. But i bet throwing a B&C stock on it would sure look nice, and soak up a little more of the recoil

Only on CGN could someone provide 4 good choices only to be countered with a weatherby vanguard and a gun no longer produced

Excellent observation, I think it only happens in the hunting and sporting arms section, I think it is good manners to show some respect and stick to an ops original question, sometimes it is entertaining and informative but mostly it is just rude and irritating.
