A Burris E1 4.5-14x 42mm is going on mine. There was a deal with the Burris Veracity which will be going on my Stag 10. Yes not super high end optics but they work well for me and do the job just fine.
Keep in mind he’s asking for a 308 semi auto precision rifle. Match ammo is around $2 a shot (less if you reload). Plus these are restricted so range use only. Last add in the fact that these aren’t light rifles. I will take more magnification any day over a combat type of sight due to the above reasons. I would guess 99 percent of the use will likely be off a bench.
I personally don’t like Vortex and have never bought one. Burris is my go to for less expensive optics.
