Hello, Fellow Nutz,

I just started kicking around getting a pistol & carbine combo. A combo that uses interchangeable magazines. The contenders: Tauras P92 and a Beretta CX4 Storm and the Ruger PC9 and a Ruger KP94. I believe the Ruger combo would be cheaper, but the Storm looks kewl. Are there any other reasonable priced combos out there? Any advice? Any reviews?

I haven't had much chance to shoot my PC4GR but I have tried my XD40 mags in it and they feed fine and work the bolt hold open. I just need to make a hole in the front of the mag below the stock mag catch hole for the PC4 mag catch to hold it.

You are right, it's not the cheapest way to go. And I missed the part were you said you wanted interchangeable magazines. That rules out the HK.

Of the two options you listed, Beretta wins hands down.

I have both the storm and 92fs
Ruger Pc9 but sold the h-gun because I didnt like it.
Next is the ollie arms to go with my G-17:D

Between the PC9 and the Storm, I've shot both, and while the Storm is _much_ cooler looking, the ergonomics on the PC9 are superior ('little' things like the position and use of the mag and bolt release) and the PC9 returns to target faster. Also the PC9 will survive more abuse.

So I own a PC9.

Never fired a Beretta or Ruger handgun, so can't comment there.

Man, I must be getting old or something. When I first saw the title, I thought of a .357 magnum revolver and a lever action rifle in the same calibre or a .44 magnum revolver and a lever actioned .44 mag as well. ;)

funny I dumped my PC9 cuz I thought it was a piece of crap, whereas I love the Storm.
good luck finding a Beretta like the one in your Pic though.
Me I'd go with an Elite II in 9mm or GSD in 9mm and a Storm in 9mm. mags swap around, and unlike a Ruger you actually have a trigger and mag release on the pistol that doesn't feel like too pieces of 10 grit sandpaper rubbing against each other.

I have a....

s/s Ruger 77/44 to go with my S&W 629 in 44mag.

s/s T/C Contender carbine to go with my Colt Delta Elite and Glock 20 10mm's.

Had a Marlin 1894CB to go with my 2 s/s Ruger Bisley Vaquero's in 45 Colt but sold the rifle and have a s/s Puma LSI M92 454 Casull ordered to go with my SRH in 454 Casull, and it can also shoot my 45 Colts.

That's what I call rifle/handgun combo's........
