I know CZ has a warranty center in Canada. I know Ruger does too. I'm pretty sure Glock also does.
But what about the other big brands like Sig, HK, etc. Are their supposed lifetime warranties utilizable?

I've had good service from Sig and none of my HK's have ever broken. Springfield has a good warranty but the pistol has to be sent back to the US. Most reputable dealers will service what they sell, why not ask your dealer how they handle warranty.

I can tell you that Bailkal has little or no parts for any of their product line Which is why I wont buy anymore Baikal products.

I have had excellent service for my Sig abd S&W. I had both serviced last year.

Marstar services all its Norinco pistols Excellent service

STI has authorized folks in the East coast (Freedom Ventures) and west coast (DVC). They'll also send by mail any small parts you might need without many questions asked.

What about transferable warrantys, if you buy used are any companys honoring their warrantys or are they only good to the original purchaser ?

how have the dealers been in getting warranty work done? or do most manufacturers say ship it away instead of going back to your dealer?

I kind of liked the Canadian Tire way of warranty items...just return and get new....lol

STI's have a lifetime warranty, and I've got nothing but praise for Sean at Freedom Ventures, really top notch service. As far as Glocks go, the parts are so cheap, and they are so easy to work on, I doubt if Id ever send any of mine off for any type of warranty work unless I had a problem with my Slide/Barrel/Frame. Anything else wouldnt be worth it, you can order parts for less than you'd spend in shipping to get your gun to a warranty center. The likely hood of having to use the warranty on either of the above mentioned brands is low though, imo. It usually seems like thats the way it goes, the best products have the best warranty, they can offer it because they have a track record of reliability to fall back on. Companies that have poor warranty/customer service are usually brands that have the most issues.

I've had two warranty issues in the time I've owned firearms. In the first (Savage), the smith (located in Melfort Sk, PM if you want details!) guaranteed that there was no charge (claimed to be a warranty depot) and promptly dropped off the face of the earth after I handed my rifle over to him. Have never been able to get hold of him since, still missing that rifle. The second, Ruger CS forwarded me to a repair depot in Quebec. So disappointed in my one and only conversation with them that I never sent it away. Plus there is the fact that most smiths I've talked to seem to be incompetent or unwilling to provide any kind of prompt service. I will never give a firearm to a gunsmith again. If I can't source out the parts and figure out how to fix it myself, I guess I will be stuck with broken firearms.

Beretta's Warranty centre is Gunco in Ottawa - pretty exceptional service as well. Typically though, you have to contact Beretta Canada and they will tell you where to ship it, then they bulk-ship repairs along with other Stoeger Canada stuff to Ottawa for service. It works better than I would have imagined.

Who is the Ontario S&W place? I'd only ever heard of M. Charlton?
