Which pistols in Canada have actually useable manufacture warranties?

A lot of warranties WILL work in Canada...even HK *gasp*. They ALL take time tho, as in weeks - months.

Your best bet is to order/buy your high wear parts BEFORE HAND...you can do this out of the USA as many sites ship to Canada and if they do not then pay a small premium and get someone like irunguns.ca to do it for you. Yes your paying for the parts yourself...but you have them on hand to fix your gun(s) when needed and not have them out of commission for who knows how long and is a much better and a much smarter idea IMO.

Taurus has transferable warranties, but good luck getting work done as there still isnt a warranty Centre in Canada. That being said Freedom Ventures will help out if it was one of theirs. Availability of warranty work will definitely come into consideration of which new firearm I purchase.

A warranty and someone close by, if possible to service it..

Makes me wonder why so many "Used" guns are being sold without any warranty and still a hefty price..

Are they that problem free? Not from what I've seen posted here..

If they are cheap guns and you like to tinker swell but when you get into $1000.00 territory and up no way. My .02 cents

I've had two warranty issues in the time I've owned firearms. In the first (Savage), the smith (located in Melfort Sk, PM if you want details!) guaranteed that there was no charge (claimed to be a warranty depot) and promptly dropped off the face of the earth after I handed my rifle over to him. Have never been able to get hold of him since, still missing that rifle. The second, Ruger CS forwarded me to a repair depot in Quebec. So disappointed in my one and only conversation with them that I never sent it away. Plus there is the fact that most smiths I've talked to seem to be incompetent or unwilling to provide any kind of prompt service. I will never give a firearm to a gunsmith again. If I can't source out the parts and figure out how to fix it myself, I guess I will be stuck with broken firearms.

My only interaction with a gun smith was w/ Casey at Tactical Ordnance and it was a pleasant one.

But there is now a Taurus / Rossi Warranty Center in Canada.
Snapshots in Montreal who currently do the warranty support for Ruger products started doing it on January 1st 2013.

Beretta's Warranty centre is Gunco in Ottawa - pretty exceptional service as well. Typically though, you have to contact Beretta Canada and they will tell you where to ship it, then they bulk-ship repairs along with other Stoeger Canada stuff to Ottawa for service. It works better than I would have imagined.

Who is the Ontario S&W place? I'd only ever heard of M. Charlton?

Ditto, Gunco provides great service.
