I want to but an electric call for mostly coyotes and foxes. I have narrowed it down to Foxpro's top 3 or Primos Alpha dog or Turbo dog. Has anyone used both of these. I'm leaning towards the Alpha Dog because of price. Any help or sugestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

I just have the basic foxpro the $ 200.00 one and it works just great:)
But most of my shots are well within 200 yards, since we don't have the open spaces you would have .

Same here, I'm satisfied with the basic Foxpro Spitfire and can't justify buying the higher end models. One can buy the Spitfire with an external speaker for less money than the other models.

i've never had luck with electric calls. IMO nothing beats a manual call. With a ecall if you're using a remote speaker system you're doing alot of fiddling around in your stand zone spreading your scent and making noise. i think nothing beats a manual call, you have better volume control, variation in your calls, more control and you won't have to worry about battery levels or cold weather.

if you must use an ecall, i'd say go foxpro, i've never used one but i have some buddies that swear by it.

I still feel a little bit like if I'm cheating by using my Foxpro. Trust me I tried hard to get better with mouth calls. I have bought a multitude of calls over the years and the only one I was ever able to master perfectly is a Primos cottontail distress call.

I called in a few yotes using it but never had good results with the other calls so I guess I was doing something wrong. Since I bought the ecaller, my success rate increased considerably.

I really wish I'd be gifted for mouth calls.

Foxpro customer service is amazing.

This is my kit

First time hunting coyotes was last season so i still have lots to learn. One thing a buddy told me i should have is an external speaker,he's pretty successful at calling them in.

Thanks for all your replies guys. I can mouth call but find that if I have to walk in a fair distance to call I am a little winded to be able to put a full effort in. I found out today a friend has a Foxpro Firestorm for sale, used only once. 350 bucks. I bit the bullet and bought it. Hopefully i can try it out this weekend. Might use the saved money for a Jack decoy. Any tips and tricks would be helpful. Thanks again.
