Which Primer

Hey guys,

I am new to reloading and was planning on loading 30-06 (180 grain soft point) and 30-30 (150 grain round nose). I have saved up over 100 used brass for each caliber, bought a used Lee Challenger press and dies and an Ultrasonic cleaner. I was doing some reading in my manuals and I think I am going to use Reloader 15 powder (32.8 grains for 30-30 and 44.6 grains for 30-06). My question is about primers, I will be using the Lee Auto Prime XR and I know that I will be using CCI primers but which kind? I know large rifle primers but there are many different kinds (200, 250, BR2).

The 200 would best suit your needs.
 
your reloading book or alliant's site will tell you; you can also e-mail cci with the recepie and they'll tell you - cci 200 is the regular number, the 250 is the magnum version- you'll probably find that cci 200s are fine for both, unless it's a ball powder, then you HAVE to use the magnum version;ball powders need a hotter flash to properly ignite- magnum 250 's may not be necessary; br2 is a bench rest primer- it's made to a more exacting standard, and is generally reflected in the price, or so THEY say- personally, i feel it's a gimmick
