Which recoil spring?

My Norinco 1911A1 is throwing brass to hell and gone (out the door of the shooting line) so someone suggested I install a tougher recoil spring. So what should I get?

18 lbs. I'm guessing it comes with a 16 one.

What range do you shoot at? I need some .45 acp brass

Seriously, I agree with the 18 lb spring, or even a 20. BTW what loads are you shooting?

I bought my Norkies used, but both came with stiff springs (18 lb minimum) which may or may not be original.

230gr if I remember correctly, Im at work so I cant go check

yeah Norinco Spring is weak.
try a stiffer one , Was trial and error for me , one step up at a time

recoil spring

stock spring is 16lbs for the 45cal. I always replace the spring with Wolff 18.5lbs

Is there a place in Canada to order these springs? Ive had a lousy time with parcels coming out of the States and I don't want to miss too much of this nice shooting weather
