Which red dot?

I have the TRS25, Vortex Sparc, Bushnell Trophy Red/Green

My preference between these 3 is by far, the Vortex Sparc.

AWOL, can you elaborate on your favour of the Sparc more?

I'm thinking of mounting one on an airgun. The screw-on magnifier is a nice feature.

I used a barkska red dot and it worked great. Mounted on a BCtactical front hand guard and it held zero and never skipped a beat. Ive since purchased a Vortex strikefire so i can take advantage of the 2X magnifier but I had NO complaints about my Barska. Contact me if your interested in it.

I use the vortex sparc. Their warranty is incredible. I will purchase from them in the future based on this alone.
Functionally it does what its supposed to do. Great price for the quality.

Out of the 3, I find the Trophy Red/Green a bit bulky. Otherwise, the Vortex has the best, clearest glass & image. The Vortex "dot" is a dot where I find the Bushnell's "dot" is more of a "dash". I believe this may be a function of glass quality. They all work well.

I would not recommend putting any of them on an air gun if it is a spring piston type, they are very hard on optics and might ruin it. For an air gun I would either try a cheapo airsoft unit that you can throw away or something designed specifically for air guns.

Thanks for the input and advice.

Lol was actually planning to mount it on a Diana 54 , a notorious scope killer. The search continues.

Seriously, I would consider trying an NCStar. They have a lifetime warranty and are cheap enough not to care if it doesn't work. They are so cheap, you can buy 2 from Marstar. 1 for the gun and 1 out for warrantee replacement. Just keep rotating them as they break.

Got an aimpoint comp ML3 2moa on my CSA....it's awesome, and I don't know how anyone hits anything past 50 with larger dots, love the 2 moa personally...

LOL sounds like a good rotation system.. From what I've read online Vortex has a killer no-hassle warranty as well.

But not to stray too far OT; I just wouldn't feel right putting a cheap Chinese RDS on a high-end German air rifle anyway, even on an SKS for that matter.

I patronize dealextreme.com for my red dot sights. So far I have 2 of the BSA dealies with the integral weaver rail clamp. So far it is okay on my 870 express with a Weaver Convert-a-mount, but I will have to do some more shooting with it to know if it's okay for recoil/reliability. I plan on using the other one on my .22s with some adaptation for the rail.

If you want a red dot sight to go through hell and still function, I can't help you there.
