Budget is always an issue but I can be persuaded. I was thinking of either a CZ 452 scout or a Norinco JW-15A. I can could use the rifle too. I want to mount a 3X-9X scope on it. Any opinion on this matter would be greatly appreciated. BTW, my daughter is 9. :)

I already have a 10/22. She's not hot on the semi-auto. She tried a friends bolt gun and she really enjoyed loading the rounds with the bolt – go figure?

I will go CZ if the price is right for sure. I really like the scout's short barrel. I reid it out recently and it shot extremely well at a 100 yards. Impressed I was. But! What can you guys say about the Norincos? It's a bit one sided here right now.

My 12 year old daughter likes single shots. She doesn't like stopping to fill mags.
As far as she is concerned, her gun is a pre-war Mauser 340B with a K10 steel tube Weaver on it.
For iron sights she likes a pre-war Erma trainer style .22.

I'd go with an older single shot. Scopes are easier for kids to get started on.

I bought my kids a pre-1960's Walther Target Sporter, small stock light weight, super accurate, even with the cheapest ammo the groups were fantastic.
My kids are in there 20's now, and still love shooting that Walther

What about one of the new Savages? Almost all of the new line come with the "Accutrigger", from little short "Kids" guns to the full blown target rifles. Remember all of Savage rimfires are built in Canada!!

I was thinking about those Savages too. Being Canadian made makes it even more appealling. I'll look into it. :)
