IMHO if you get a Vanguard and top it with a 3-9x40 Redfield revolution with accu retical you'll have a nice setup for around $650.00 give or take a buck or two

From what I've been told, the bushnells on these combos arent even bushnell. For the 11/111, Axis and 770 Savage and Remington buy cheap Chinese knockoffs and pay Bushnell for the use of the name. Not sure if this is completely true, but if you look closely on a real Bushnell (Bushnell 3-9X40 made in China is stamped right on the tube). On the combos it will only say 3-9X40 Made in China.

Redfields are awesome scopes for the price.... but that package at Cabela's would cost over $750.00 before tax....

AR reticle and weaver rings n bases. Could go with Leupold or Burris but more expensive. Unless you are doing BR shooting Weaver will do.

True... but OP has set a limit of 600 bucks.... in this case the package isn't a bad choice... I think the banner would do the trick while he saved his pennies for something better..... would rather see him buy the 700 sps package than the axxis rifle only so he could afford a marginally better scope than teh banner.....
