Which rimfire rifle?

100% savage. Best bang for your bucks. I own few rim fire savages in .22 mag and.17HMR heavy barrel+ accu triger. Accurate as HELL at 100+ft. Scope should use no less than 14 power for head shot at 100 ( gophers) consistently lol

What! No CZ-452 fans out there? Sorry guys but the Savage and the Marlin just don't have that....anyways it doesn't matter. I love my CZ-452 American.

i love CZ and own 2 and 2 anchutz but if i had to choose between a crapy marlin or a savage i would go savage all the way, and allthough savage doesnt even compare to a CZ they can be made to shoot just aswell and for a beginer rifle a savage or a ruger are the best out there in that price range

haha, I was trying not to chime in with a CZ response, but now that someone else has; CZ all the way.

Got CZs too but the OP did not include CZ in his choices.
You'd be right if it were. CZs are better built, finished and perform better in all areas of comparison.

Initially I thought my MKIIF shot better groups at 100 meters than my CZs, but later testing showed that is not so. But for the money, at about 1/3 the price, my MkIIF rocks. At 50 meters, no rodents will be safe from either.

I don't know much about the marlin , but i just bought a savage 93r17btvs. It's got a great trigger and accurate as hell . I am really happy with it. They are made in lakefield, ontario too.

I would like a definition of "Extremely Accurate" as applied to these rather mundane rifles.
10 shot groups - ½" @ 50 meters? ¾" ? 1" ? I suspect most of the Savage owners have yet to shoot an "Extremely Accurate" 22 rimfire. ;) :D Regards, Eagleye

On the internet everything shoots sub 1/2 moa groups at 100 yards all day anyday with the following disclaimer of course
As long as I do my part
. :p

IMOA = Internet Minute of Angle.
