I remember seeing a savage rifle that was stainless, fluted, walnut stocked. Any one remember which model this was? Been driving me up the wall for months now.

There may have been a lightweight hunter option like this at one time, but not fluted.

The 12's were all heavy barrel laminate from what I remember...maybe a 14 or 16 series if it had walnut.

Like I said...

It was a limited run by CT of all places(iirc). First in .223 (as above) and then later in 22-250.
It has some of the features of both the Euro and American Classic.
Box mag, fluted barrel, raised cheek piece etc.

I wasn't familiar with the canadian classic, but I did own the american classic stainless for a while, kinda wish i kept it and they were available in more calibres than the canadian classic

The pic posted was the rifle style. I remember seeing one for sale in the EE in 300 Win mag and should have bought it just because.

The 'closest' I have is a 112 BVSS in .25-06. It has a fluted stainless barrel with laminate stock. I made mention of it in another forum here recently, the reloading forum in the .25-06 Rem. thread.gun & load recipes. I picked it up with the intent to use as for long range varmint/pred shooting. Admittedly, all I've used it for to date is load testing and punching paper and it's 'fond' of the 117gr Sierra Spitzer BT:d:d.

There was also a very limited run on Savages with this exact configuration sold as 114 Classic Stainless Fluted rifles. I can't recall for sure but I think they were called a 114 American Classic, if i remember correctly. Beautiful rifles, if you ever see one grab it! I am always on the lookout for one myself.
