Hi guys i just bought a stevens 200 in .223 and was wondering where i could get a decent 1 piece scope base for it. I found this one h t t p://www.tacticalworks.com/Savage-EGW-Short-Action-Round-Back-Tactical-Scope-Mount-20-MOA-PN-41002.html do you guys think it would be a good choice? the purpose of this gun will be for some long range target practice and the occasional coyote hunt.

You do not need 20 minutes of taper. This can actually make it impossible to hit short range targets, particularly with 1" scope tubes. As to brand, it doesn't matter. Get whatever you can find.

Thanks for the advice ill go with the 0 moa rail.

I like the EGW 0 MOA for my savage/stevens rifles. Allen Gunnworks a dealer on this board has a good deal on them at the minute so I bought 2 more.

Use the burris zee rings with MOA inserts if you need some additional elevation. But of course it depends on scope and the distance your gonna shoot.

Heres the link to the rails.

Thats perfect thanks for posting the link i just placed a order.

Glad your sorted Geezer.

Just to fix my error, as most realize, the Zee ring inserts are not exact "X" MOA inserts per se. They do give you a way to adjust your elevation/windage and with some careful measuring and a bit of trigonmetry you can even get an idea by how much.

I hope that convoluted statement has clarified any confusion I may or may not have created.
