Which Scope For My .270 Win??

Considering that both 2.5-10 and 3-9 will serve my purposes, which do you recommend, and why?

I'm focused on dusk light gathering, clarity, and lens not fogging on rainy days.

Bushnell Elite 2.5-10x40 Multi-X, new, $350+T&S..........(it's not a 3200, 4200, 3500 or 4500). I have owned one of these.

vs

Leupold VX-2 3-9x40 Duplex, new, $370+T&S..........(it's not a II). I have not owned one of these.

Many have great things to say about Bushnell, personally I have seen multiple problems and have had poor service with them and lengthy turnaround time. All my rifles wear Leupolds now, you really can't go wrong any of their models. The Leupold you suggested would be a fine choice. My 270 wears a vx3 4.5x14x40
 
Thanks guys, but I'm looking for feedback/comparison on/of the actual 2 scopes that I listed, based on the factors I noted.

FYI - I've been using a Redfield Golden 5 Star 2-7x33 on my (three: pump, then bolt, and now single shot) .270, since 1989. I'm considering a change, as my hunting style has changed, due to health issues. I used to still hunt the thick woods. Now I sit in a blind, and shoot off of a tripod.

I have the vx 2 in the same magnification and I can't really see a difference in clarity.I have a few leupolds and bushy elites and no complaints about either company. I do favour leupy for the fact that you can have a different reticle installed in most of their scopes.

How about light gathering at dusk, and lenses not fogging up on rainy day?
 
To be honest, I find them similar. The rain guard on the elite is a nice feature. The 2.5-10 elite is actually the old 4200 version. That scope has a bit of a following. The leupy is a little lighter than the equivalent elite if that matters.

OK, you have my attention :)

1) What is the difference between the VX-III and VX-3 models (other than year made)?...............In the event I can save some $$$ by buying a used one.
2) What does the "i" mean, in VX-3i?....................Never mind, I just read that it's the new light management system :)

Yeah I did, was responding to GOUMFACH. I found the elite Bushnells to be just fine as well as the Bausch & Lomb's Elite riflescope which was acquired by Bushnell.

Either of your choices the Bushnell Elite 2.5-10x40 Multi-X or the Leupold VX-2 3-9x40 Duplex are similar quality and would be a good pick for your hunting situation.

Diamond coat, dual bias erector springs, different gas fill. That would be the bigger ones.
