Which Scope Mounts Best For On The M-305?

take my advice, buy a Smith Enterprise or other Brookfield Precision style mount, SKBY.

I have to agree with SKBY on this, the best would the new Smith's mount that can take ACOG's or the NEW! TA-70 by TRIJICON..it is not cheap but if you have the $$, this one would a bit lower than the ARMS & standard Smith's..example:

Airborn, do you know about the price of the new smith mount? look's pretty sweet to me. We will definitely have to head out to CHAS after the holidays when we get our m14s ready. Thanks again for all the help man.

For sure! The Picatinny Smiths are about $300-350US..Not cheap but if you don't mind the Weaver rail style ones, it is at around $150US...

I'll be making an order in the new year, for some Vector style breaks & maybe a rail or 2 since I have more than one M14 now..

The Acog mount is in very limited release to the US, $325 US is the price.

You can unscrew the 1913 rail to attach the acog directly to the mount, (this also works with my Canadian PVS-502 night scope), this is why the 1913 is solid and not see through for the irons like the other two M14 mounts that smith makes. I waited for many months to get mine and regretfully parted with it two days ago, that time of the year you know.

I will consider it for several of projects, especially for use with the sage, as no milling is needed for the upper handguard. The regular smith mounts require the removal of the first three rails, although the Arms18 doesn't as long as you get the flush set screw for the front or don't use it at all.
Also a plus for the sage, it allows for better eye relief with optics as the adjustable cheek piece is a little far back for some of the scopes I've used.

So IMHO it's the best mount of any made to use on the Sage platform.
