Hi there.

Daughter wants a scope for her CZ. Purpose is the killing of paper targets at 100m (at most).

What do you guys recommend?

Thanks,

Steyn

CZ scope and ring refrence.

Thanks, guys. How much should I expect to pay?

You can pickup a good used VX-2 4-12X40mm AO for $500 and the rings are about $80... you could buy a cheaper VX-1 4-12x40mm without AO, but shooting at 10-35 yards becomes problematic.

I have a Bushnell Legend 5-15x AO scope on my CZ455. It's an older model, paid $200 in the EE for it. It's not super clear glass, but I don't think you need to spend $500 unless you want to.

Word of warning, I'm running this scope on Sportsmatch medium rings to clear the rear irons and at that height with the curved stock you will very likely need some form of cheekriser to get consistent cheek weld. Some folks are able to shoot no problem using a chin weld but I had a lot of difficulty with that.

This is the reason I recommended the scope that I did... on the Lux models, it is better to stay behind the tangent sight than to go over it... you have to mount much too high in going over... otherwise it would be wearing the VX-2 6-18x40mm AO... IMO the rifle is absolutely worthy of a $5-600 scope.

I ended up with a Nikon scope (not perfect, but don't have $500 now). Pretty decent glass, in my opinion.

My problem now is that the rear sights touch the front part of the scope, even with the tall-ish rings that I bought. Front sight was a breeze to remove: just unscrew three bolts, and it went into the Ziploc bag for unused parts of the rifle.

I did unscrew part of the rear sight, but now I am at a stage where are NO screws to remove. The thing just seems glued/soldered there.

How can I remove it?

(thanks in advance)
