i have two options, but first i must mention that this scope will be used primarily for target shooting on a rimfire rifle (savage mark II BV)

here they are:

Simmons Whitetail Classic Rifle Scope 6.5-20x 50mm Adjustable Objective Truplex Reticle Matte
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=746570

or

Mueller APV Rifle Scope 4.5-14x 40mm Adjustable Objective APV Reticle Matte
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=119797&t=11082005

this will be my first rifle, and i know little to nothing about scopes, except for the fact that these two were highly suggested to me.

thanks.

The WTC is a great scope for the price save for a few things. First, the scope is heavy. Second, the scope is big and may look/feel funny on a smaller rimfire. Third, the bell is HUGE, therefore you will need higher rings to mount it. This can make a good cheek weld an issue.

No experience with the Mueller APV

I got a 50 mm bell on my Savage Mark II BV, actually a 6x-18x-50mm Bushnell Banner series and i think it works great!! Very easy seeing those little 22 holes!

Only problem (like Gorky said) the bell is huge and you will need extra high rings to have it fit properly.

thanks. actually now im considering either the mueller avp or the mueller tactical 8.5-25x44x

both look good.

scopes from midway

Keep in mind you'll have to find those scopes in Canada. Midway won't ship to Canada. Don't know who stocks mueller.

cheers
