I just picked up a new Ruger 10/22 with the 20" heavy target barrel. It is drilled and tapped for Weaver type scope mounts. What make/model of scope would you mount to take full advantage of this rifles capability?

"Capability" of 10/22 at over 50 yards is a question of perspective :)

I have 10/22, marlin, savage, all in 22. Tried with all kinds of 22 LR ammo, none is a tack driver at over 50 yards.

So in my view, any scope that gives you clear vision of the target up to 100 yards will do fine. I personally use on my 10/22 a Bushnell Trophy XLT 4-12x40 scope. More than enough for it.

But again, I think the 22LR is no precision cartrige by any means (and I mean precision is when you hit 1 moa groups all day long) :) at over 50 yards

My custom built 10/22 I put on a Primary Arms 4x ACSS on it, but I think your looking at a different kind of purpose here.

I put a KIDD Match heavy barrel on my 10/22, so I went with a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x50.
It's a nice scope with decent glass, the side parallax can be set from 10yds to infinity.

Another possibility would be a Sightron S TAC 4.5-20x50. The side parallax can be set from 10yds to infinity on this one as well.
I use mine on my CZ 452 Varmint, but it could be used on a Ruger.

I like scopes with a parallax that can be set this low because our indoor range is only 20 yards.
I like scopes with magnifications that start low & go to to medium power because I like to shoot offhand, and still have a scope I can benchrest with at longer ranges.
