Which of these 3 scopes would you pick to mount on a Browning BAR ShortTrac, and why?

1) Bushnell 3200 3x9
2) Bushell 4200 1.25x4
3) Burris Full Field II

Of those I'd install the Bushnell Elite 3200. It is reputed to be a good scope, it is reasonably priced, and 3-9x40 is a very good all-purpose configuration that would suit the widest pool of potential buyers for the BAR Short-Trac, which I'd be selling because it is a gun that doesn't particularly serve my needs, nice though it is.

Not exactly the line of thinking you are looking for, eh? What kind of hunting do you want to use if for, and at what ranges do you expect to do most of your shooting?

Bear in mind that that a BAR can easily destroy a cheap scope, if you actually shoot it and not just look at it. Mine gobbled up a few 3200s before I gave up and stuck a used Vari X 111 on it. End of problem.
The bolt flying and slamming around inside the receiver isn't a whole lot different than taking your rifle and hitting it with a hammer a couple hundred times.

I put 200+ rounds through my ShorTrac 308 with 2-7x 3200 without any issue. Maybe it is a matter of time.

Now I can afford to spend more dollars I have switched most of my 3200s to VXIII. The VXIIIs are for sure a grade better. :)

Thanks...

10 boxes could be a weekend or a lifetime, but either way its not really a lot. My BAR ate 2 of them in a day.:(

What about the 4200. Arn't they are suppose to be better that the 3200's.

You guys are making me nervous. I just bought a Browning Bar .300 win mag, and had a left over Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 from another gun, that I just put on. I really hope It don't grenade. It worked perfect on my old rem mod 700 in the same calibre. I guess time will tell, because its the only scope I have available.
