Looking to buy a new semi auto shotgun strictly for busting clays recreationaly.

which semi auto shotgun will use cheap 2 3/4 shells and cyle reliablely.

my weatherby sa-08 has not had a hick up since i bought it. I shoot the federal and Winchester bulk packs from walmart though it, no problem. Shoot the heavy brass though it no problem as well.

My Stoeger eats everything I feed it and has never had so much as a hick up.

I have a buddy with a stoeger semi and it wouldn't cycle the light loads worth a darn. We broke it in, cleaned it several times. Just would not cycle the light stuff.

I've used two Extrema IIs and they worked excellent. I also used a friend's Montefelltro Silver for a day and it fed everything great. Considering the price though I'd be pissed if it didn't work perfectly.

Love the SX3
Family members have SBEII and the Xtrema2 - both nice.

I love the Win for the price especially, supposedly that fastest cycle speed.

Baikal mp 153 semi auto and it is 7.5 lbs

Baikal MP 153 it cycles the cheap stuff and the 3.5''' rnds great no FAILS.

Why would you buy cheap shells from walmart? When you can buy flats of decent quality target loads at 50-$60 a flat of 250. Stay away from the walmart stuff it's crap.

What type do you recommend? I'm shooting a lot of shotgun lately and it's pretty clear the winchester xtra 7.5 stuff is really awful, it even gets stuck in one of my single shots.

I would ultimately suggest that you reload... But for now try Rem. Gun Clubs, Federal Top Guns or Winchester white box.

Stick with 2.75" chambers. The longer chambered guns don't function near as well with the lighter loads.
