Which semi auto with 20.5 inch barrel

Hi call me crazy :dancingbanana: but i am trying to find a donor gun for a project to put a right hand ejecting semi auto rifle inside an l85 a1 (sa80) body shell, just like my mossberg tactical 22 is a plinkster inside a plastic shell, , but to look right, the barrel length would need to be close to the original which is 20.5 inches, dont care about half inch either way, as i have some latitude in the exact placement of the action within the confines of the ejection port if you see what i mean, (ie can shuffle it a little forward or back to get it about right,

but i was wondering if anyone can help me find which rifles (semi auto) would have a barrel around that length, any suggestions gratefully recieved :)

10/22 with aftermarket barrel.

However, if you make that kit, you may be in possession of a prohibited firearm. As aftermarket bullpup stocks are prohibited while firearms designed to be bullpups are ok.


Stupid? Yes, of course. It's Canada, what did you expect?

wow...that sucks!!:eek:TWK i have seen 10/22's inside a few different bull pup stocks, the sense of why it is illegal eludes me, it is the same unaltered basic legal rifle in a plastic airsoft shell so functionality is identical, t is only the appearance that will have changed

is there a definition as to why exactly a factory built bullpup is legal but a retro fitted stock is not??

To be legal, it has to be bullpup by design. If the firearm can be fired with the stock removed, and/or put into a "conventional" stock, it becomes prohibited firearm/device. This is why firearms such as the RFB, KSG, Tavor, GM6 Lynx, FN 2000 etc are Non-restricted, because removing the stock would either remove the entire action assembly, or simply consist of removing the butt pad, and they cannot be transplanted into a conventional stock. No, it does not make sense. Your brain will fry quicker by attempting to decipher the firearms code than it would by an alien death-ray.

crazy crazy crazy!!! might as well go flip a coin to decide the matter, just goes to show that people who make decisions, should really know something about the the things they are deciding on, in truth it must be embarrassing for the rcmp as the firearms regulators, when the whole world is laughing at them for not knowing the first thing about classifying the very things they are in charge of! i pity them i really do,
