With any of those pistols (steel frame or polymer) you will one day run into a guy at the range who looks at you and says, "oh, you got one of those plastic guns, that's a nice little gun, the wife (son, 7 year old daughter) has one, you ought to look at getting yourself a 45, nothing like a 1911" you'll think he's a pr*ck - but only because he's right.
