Which single powderfor 40 S&W, 44 mag, 45ACP and 10mm Auto

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a single powder I could use for all my handguns ?

I like heavy loads and I use both jacketed and hardcast bullets.

You could try Unique or Universal Clays, but either are at their best for mid-range loads in .44 Magnum.

Longshot will work in all four. Check out the Hodgdon site for specs for each of your calibres.

The top end 44 magnum loads will require something different anyways so suck it up and buy a few different powders.

Testing and playing with loads is half he fun.

Not maximum loads for the 44mag, but a very good all-around powder for what you are looking for is Alliant's, PROMO.
Promo is the same formula for RedDot, with not dots in the powder. Works for everything you want. Not max loads though...

Power pistol would work well in all of them, but for full performance in 44 mag, you would want a slower powder like 2400, 4227, H110 or 296

+1 for longshot. I have used it in all calibers listed except 44mag with great results.

Ok what about LONGSHOT for 40 and 45. POWER PISTOL for 10mm and 300MP for my 44 ?????

Alliant 2400 is your better bet for .44 mag IMHO.

Along with H110 they are probably the most popular, but 2400 allows you to load a little softer if needed, and H110 is not recommended for reduced loads.
