since I finally got to take my new m&p9 out today (and the k100) I'd recommend staying away from the m&p9 still
I shot 20 rounds with each gun at 5, 7, 10, 15, and 20 meters.
the k100 had 3 inch groupings all the way out to 20 meters for me (with a stray going out to a max of 5 inches on a couple shots out past the 10M mark)
the m&p at 5m and 7m was all over the place, at 6-7inch grouping at 10M it was 4" groupings, 15m it was at 5", and 20m it was all over the place again.
I alternated 20 rounds in each gun, with a new target every 10 rounds. with the following method.... 10 rounds of 115grain new target, and 10 rounds of 124grain new target. I did that to make the comparison between the two fair.
Im not sure if it makes a difference but the strike mark on the spent shells from the m&p9 didnt have a nice round strike, it was more teardrop shaped... only thing I really noticed was how little recoil the MP9 had
I really gotta write up that review/comparison, and stop doing mini's in random threads like this. sorry about that![]()
Wierd, have you tried a smaller backstrap? - My M&P would put 2 rounds on top of each other while the brass was still in the air. Mind you the trigger does take a thousand or so rounds to smooth out.
I use the mid sized one out of the three, the big one is too thick for my hand, but the small one is too narrow for my hand. mid sized one makes it feel the same as the K100's grip. I'll try and remember to take the other two with me next time I go out to shoot though, and see if it makes a difference for me.
oh and, that was the first 100 rounds I've put through each of the guns, so I do expect things to get better for each once broken in.... I was just really surpised at the accuracy difference between the two of them, since they were both virgins
Which striker fired pistol would you reccommend?
My 0.2 cents; NONE. After experiencing misfires with military surplus ammo (almost 50%), I do not want to see damn thing, never mind by one. Old WWII clunkers fired that same ammo without any hiccup. If I am in competition, I would always have on back of my mind those misfires. As for LEO-s, can you imagine situation of a pistol sitting for months in holster, and dust and oil degradation creating some sort of gunk? Put on top of that cold weather, and our officer could be in a BIG trouble. If I am a boss in any LEO, I would think twice before selecting striker equipped pistols. If I must choose some sort of pistol that will fire without cocking, I will go for one of those DAO that has conventional hammer but without hammer spur. If somebody answers that pistol should be cleaned and lubricated regularly, and it will always work if everything is done properly, well, tell me about that; just look what is going on with commercial plane maintenance these days. American Airlines is canceling about thousand flights every day because of insufficient maintenance.
Seriously, without migrating my hand around the side of the pistol I can't get my finger on the trigger properly (pad of finger only) I can just about reach the tip of my finger to the middle of the trigger. I can shoot " H grip " but its not optimum. My 0.2 cents; NONE. After experiencing misfires with military surplus ammo (almost 50%), I do not want to see damn thing, never mind by one. WOW...
Your poor grasp on the english language speaks volumes about your experience and knowledge related to firearms. After decoding your post I must agree with Stevo. Your examples are rather weak when it comes to substance. Your creative examples serve to illustrate both your lack of knowledge and severe incompetence on behalf the shooter/officer(s) you describe. Blaming the gear for problems related to either the ammo or the operator serves no purpose and does nothing to solve the problem. Likewise, believing that replacing or changing the gear will solve the problem(s) only strengthens ones opinion on the author and/or shooter.
