which talley rings do I need to order?
I believe I need the extended ones for the leupold scope and savage long action but i'm not sure about height, it will be going on a gun with open sights so should I go with the high ones?

http://savagearms.com/firearms/model/116ALASKANBRUSHHUNTER

S95X725 1" Savage w/ Accutrigger Extended (High) (Silver), will these work?

also where can I order them in silver?
thanks

I tried clay but he only has them in black, I ordered them from talleyscoperings.com, is that what you meant by direct from talley?

i got the high extended ones so it raises it a bit more to clear the iron sights because those iron sights look like they stick up a decent amount, and people say you need the extended ones for leupolds because they are slightly to short for the long action.

I don't ever plan on using the open sights on it and I just wanted something good and sturdy and cheap.

You might have trouble fitting the scope in those rings. Check the tube length between the eyepiece bell and the objective bell. I mounted a 3-9x Rifleman on a buddy's Stevens 200 and it wouldn't fit in the Weavers that I ordered for him. In a panic i was about to dismount the Talleys off my 200 to use on his rifle (it was a surprise birthday present from his wife and I was running out of time to get it set up) but when I measured the distance the scope wouldn't fit in them either. I solved the problem with an extension ring on the Weavers but I hadn't thought to check before. Never had that problem before or since.

FWIW I have a Burris Signature 3-9x on my 200 and it has a bit over 5/16" of wiggle room fore and aft.

ya that's why i ordered the extended version, people have said the leupold scope bodies are to short for the savage long action and need the extended ring.

I just measured mine (set up with the rings as close as possible) and you need 5.625" of tube between the eyepiece bell and the objective bell to mount in Talley Lightweights. Unless they shortened their action in the last few years...

If the ones I ordered don't work I don't think they have any that would, they don't have extra high in silver. Now I just have to wait 6+ months for the gun :(
