So you have a new 700 footprint rimfire, Vudoo,RimX,Deuce or many others. What trigger are you going to use in this build? What do you like or dislike and why. Differerences you’ve found with actual use. This is not a bench gun so safety will be required as well as bump test for safe handling. Thanks for your input!

If it is not solely being used as a bench gun then a TT Special should fit the bill nicely ,1 to 3.5 lb range which lends itself to various use. I do like the two stage version, I think it's more intuitive to break the shot

Trigger Tech Diamond Pro Curved. (single stage). Clean or dirty with sand and range dust they just plain work. And it's easier for my finger to find the same trigger postion. Flat shoe - not so much. I would put that in Vudoo 360 and call it a day.

Trigger Tech diamond all the way, single stage. Set it how low you like it. Shape how you prefer, flat or curved. Me I'm a pro curve guy.
Jewel is apparently no longer in business. Just had a trigger crap out last week. Got in touch with the smith I bought it through, and he informed me of the news. Replaced with a new diamond.

Your correct that Jewel triggers is no more. Mr Jewel passed in Oct 2022. Their market share dropped drastically because of advanced new designs, Trigger Tech and BixNandy. I have a few TTs as well as XTSP and Timney. I’ve been reading about the BixNandy. Any users out there. It’s is going in aVudoo 360.
I have TT Diamond S/S pro curves in a couple of Vudoos & a Rim X - Very happy with all of them - Faultless in operation, predictable break and very adjustable.
I put a TT Special S/S in my wife's Vudoo only because I couldn't buy a Diamond anywhere at the time. Yes, won't adjust as low as a Diamond but a very good trigger - Certainly doesn't handicap the user when bench shooting a 700 foot print repeater.

A friend has a Vudoo single shot - Started out with a Flavio Fare which failed - Replaced with a B&A under warranty - Had to replace the cocking piece (different angle) - He likes the B&A and is doing nicely in local BR competitions with that set up.

I was reading up on the BixNandy. They apparently have different thoughts on overtravel in triggers. There idea is it helps in follow thru with the shot. Not having that sudden stop when it breaks. Different train of thought. I put a TT Diamond flat blade in for now but going to order a BixNandy to try it out.
I like the TT Diamond flat shoe. I run it at about 10oz.
It has zero creep and a nice break and overtravel into a hard wall. I tried a BIX+Andy recently and in comparison, the Bix has a smaller jump on break, but overtravels more against a long spring travel.
The flat shoe is a benefit in that the knub at the button of the shoe is a perfect index feature to put your finger pad on - repeatable every time.

Depends on which spring is fitted to the Jewell - They come with a set of three and the light one, if adjusted correctly (and assuming it will hold safely) is too light for me in a 700 foot print repeater in both a conventional stock or chassis.
I've tried it in a friend's BR rig (adjusted to about 2 oz) but not what I look for given the type of shooting I do.
All my Diamonds will go down to 6-8 ozs very safely in Vudoo/Rim X actions - Adequate for my needs.
I agree with you Rod B. I have or have had just about everything made other than the BixnAndy. All the high quality units are great but each has its own niche. My centerfire builds may be used to shoot a PRS type match or target shoot paper at the range or dust coyotes for the farmers. So I require the best of all worlds rolled up in one package. Im familiar with very light triggers from bench shooting but for what I do with my rimfire, that trigger weight would not be safe in my opinion and I just wouldnt do it. Many years ago I had a custom 700 with a heavy SS target barrel I used for 100yard BR matches with a 36x Leupold target dot and 2 ounce trigger. I shot groundhogs with it(They did exist) around the farms in my area. I let a few friends try it and even with all the advanced warnings about the trigger, most discharged the rifle before meaning too.
I did find my jewel was set lower, and almost lower than I prefer by my smith when I had my hunting rifle put together. I switched it up to the TT diamond special edition gold one, and much prefer it for the hunting rig.
I did end up swapping the jewel into my bench rifle, and it worked great until recently. This rifle now has the TT diamond in it, and I may still play with the setting some and see the difference, but I did turn it down from the factory "mid range" setting. Was plinking steel out to 1000m in the wind on sat morning, checking my new load.
The BixnAndy might be able to adjust down further than the TT, just not sure. They do say the TT is adjustable from 4-32 oz.
