Which Vortex Crossfire 2 Scope - Replacing on CZ457

64X? I said 16x would be the lowest mag of a optic that i would ever think of purchasing for any kind of 'target shooting'... I currently run 6-24s and 5-25s on my rimfires with 40moa of rail on my PRS style gun (could go 50 or more though).

Of all the rimfire matches I've been to I have never seen someone shooting a 2-7 optic... You shoot 1/4moa at 200m with your riimfire? ...please give us some details! Ammo/dope etc!

No. Not with rimfire. It’s a center fire cartridge. That’s quite irrelevant to the optic though. If a 7x at 200m is sufficient to see and place 1/4 moa then no more magnification is required.

You said you needed 16x at 50m which is strange to me. That’s the equivalent of 64x at 200m. It seems absurd to me.

Me too actually. The Brno no. 2 rifle I use at ranges out to 75 yards has an old Japan Tasco 1.75 x 5 x 20; old eyes and all, I win my share of prize money with it.

I decided to abandon my original plans with the limited Vortex options, did some more research, reduced my requirements, expanded the budget and ended up buying a Leupold VX Freedom 3-9x40.

How did this scope work out for you? Did you go with the rimfire reticle?

Hi there. Absolutely love the scope - the clarity in all lighting conditions is fantastic. No, mine didn't have a rimfire specific reticle as far as I can tell.
