which Weatherby Vanguard S2 scope base(s)

Good news, I saved $4.80 on my weekend beer so I purchased a Weatherby Vanguard S2 rifle in 30-06 (the kryptek one).

What make and model "weaver style" scope base(s) or rail can I put on it?
Preferably the item is available in the GVRD area as in Italian, Reliable, Eagle, Wholesale or Cabelas. In this order to minimize costs

Takes same 2 piece bases as Howa 1500 and rem 700. My recommendation for the vanguard is a set of talley lightweights. Most of my rifles wear talleys. Lows work well with most 40 mm objective scopes.You're gonna like that rifle.

Weaver base 36 for the rear.
Weaver base 35 for the front.
Weaver 40A would be the front extension style
if you have short scope tubes.
I have all three here not being used.
I also have the Leupold one piece base with rings.
Took it off my 7mm mag as it encroaches the bolt opening area.
Nawt me cup-oh-tea.

Best mount for your S2 there is.

Check them mounts with a level when they are being installed.
I had to turn one around as it was off the bubble when the other
showed level.
Makes for some interesting juggling to keep them in a parallel line.

I use the steel Weaver Grand slam bases, or Warne but those I order from Brownells.

I hear you but I'm partial to Burris Signature Zee rings so I only want bases.

I have a set of weaver aluminum bases and burris medium hight zee rings for my s2 kryptek in .270. The 35 and 36 bases fit a burris e1 3-9x40 fine. Any shorter of a scope and you will probably need the extended front base which is 40a. Medium hight zee rings leave a little bit of clearance to thelense but i think short rings would be to short and would let the scope hit the barrel. I just set mine up to check for this post. Im currently trying to sell the rifle and bases.

I used Burris Signature Zee rings as well on my Weatherby Vanguard 2 Blaze with Burris Xtreme Tactical Steel two piece bases(#410600) and it works great! I think I picked them up at Wholesale for $25 or so. They work great and have a couple slots so you have some adjustment.

could you please tell me how long the 1" tube on your scope is?
