Which WMU?

did you all apply this year in the draw? If you did not, you all will be pool 2 applicants and will not get a tag. Everyone in your group needs to be pool 1 applicants and meet the required group size to draw a tag. Anywhere past Thunderbay is your best bet for success and lower group size requirements.

Good point..all the more reason to hunt a WMU that has Deer hunting at the same time. 10-14 hours is a long way to go for Calf hunting.

Yup, one of our guys drew a cow as an indivdual. Same as last year for a bull tag. We have 1 bull 2 cow tags. Last year was vice versa. We go week 2 and 3. We always have snow and frozen lake in the am. Moose are there to. We don't usually run into too many others. Some locals out driving the roads. Only once another group cam in and camped but lots of woods for everyone.

We did not apply this year for a tag. Heck, some of us got our Hunter Ed course done after the draw deadline. I fully understand that we may not draw a tag next year but like I said - are willing to drive for a while - and hope to make this a long term tradition.

Would love to find a spot where we can hunt deer as well so that if all we have is a calf tag in the first year, we can concentrate on deer and make a good time of it - start the tradition.
