With the massive gun ban it's time to support our gun stores for the next year and buy optics and ammo.

On my 308 Sig bolt gun I'm looking to upgrade the scope. I've narrowed it down to the following 3 scopes.

Nightforce Optics, NX8 4-32x50mm F1, MOA-XT Reticle
Trijicon Tenmile 4.5-30x56 SFP Long-Range Riflescope, Red/Green MOA Crosshair Reticle
Leupold Mark 4HD 8-32x56mm M1C3 Side Focus FFP PR2-MOA Reticle

Which would you pick? I've never used a Nightforce but have always been happy with my Trijicons and Leupolds. I don't care if it's SFP or FFP.
Are there any better options in the $3k-ish price range? I refuse to buy any scope made in China.

I find optics very subjective to the user. What works for my eyes and firearm ergonomic preferences, may not work for others. With that said, I currently own a few Leupold scopes, but have a Nightforce NXS on layaway, and looked at a few Trijicon’s at the local shop recently… I rarely purchase an optic with magnification without doing a “hands on” first.

Trijicon or Nightforce with the features you are looking for… buy once , cry once .

The NF NX8 would be my first choice due to my experience with NF optics and the MOA-XT reticle, followed by the Trijicon and then the Leupold as I think Trijicons are tougher and have better turrets (my opinion).
I recently bought another Tract scope as it's now my prefered optic. My fist one spent 4+ years on my .308 and has tracked precisley from 100-1000m on many occassions, and the glass quality it top notch.

I've got three Mark 5HDs at this point. Two are 3.6-18 and the other a 5-25. All are illuminated reticles. They work well for me. I like the glass. It agrees with my eyes. No experience with the Trijicon Ten Mile, but everything else they make is solid, so I can't imagine it would be anything less than stellar. My only gripe with NF is that the whole ocular lens end turns when you make a magnification adjustment. For the OCD guy like me, it's maddening :)

Nightforce. No comparison. And Not all Nightforce scopes have the whole ocular lense that turns when you make a magnification adjustment. Just do your research.

Not sure why you'd be looking at a Mark 4 as opposed to a Mark 5. The Mark 5 compares more favourably with the NX8. The Nightforce is probably still superior, but I've used the Mark 5 and it is a damned nice scope.

I have a nf and two trijicon accupoints.
I find nf reticle is very fine , hard to see, in the woods.
Trijicon is very easy to see and use.best scope in bad weather out there, imo.
I don't think the glass is as good as the nf but for hunting you really cannot beat a trijicon accupoint.
At the range only, nf.
My leopolds and ziess have now become spares, nothing wrong with them, just seemed to like the trijicons and nf better.

I’ll be the odd one out and say Trijicon. Not quite as bombproof as NF, but definitely going to hold zero better than most others. Also prefer the glass, reticle and eye relief of the Trijicon as well

I run a Mk4HD 8-32 but with the PR3 reticle. I really like the scope but have only had it out twice so far. (Hopefully 3 times shortly.) I got it after testing a Mk5 and VX-6HD. I really like the Leupold stuff and have it on a couple rifles as I am slowly getting rid of the cheaper optics I own.

Nightforce is next on my list to try but it will likely be a 2.5-20 NX8. After that I want to try a Steiner lineup as well.

Either way my vote sits with the Mk4 for now until I get to try the others.
