Here’s the deal.

I have narrowed down my choices to 3 guns.

687 Silver Pigeon III
687 Silver Pigeon V
682 Gold E Sporting

I would like to purchase a gun for both hunting and skeet shooting. Skeet shooting vs. hunting is around 60 to 40% of the time.

Which gun would you choose and why?

Thanks :)

I recently purchased a Silver Pigeon V. I choose that model because of the case hardening and gold inlays which have a classic look and stand out in a world full of silver receivers. All three are nice yet mechanically identical.

I think the 682 is a bit heavier and is intended to be a "many rounds" target gun...if hunting is more your thing, go with the 687 V...case colour mmmm

As a "majority" of the time "hunting" gun ... I'd go with the 687 Silver Pigeon "C", a much classier gun ( colour case hardened, NO gold birdies, no gel-tec pad or glow worm sight ... nice checkering, oil finish & SO type forend) than the 687 SP "V", and, as a bonus, (IMHO) a little less money. Buy it a nice Beretta leather case to live in with the saved $$$ - you'll still be further ahead.

As "primarily a target gun" ... then the 682 GoldE ... and if the $$$ are a little tight, absolutely nothing wrong with the 686E Sporter for a lot less.

The 687 SP's are all 28" (or shorter) Field guns. For the 682 Gold E Sporter I'd go with the 32" ... the 686E is not available in 32" so I'd go with the 30".
