Marstar sells them, and they are made by a german company, sport system dk, i will send you a pm when iget the full name,

Sport-Systeme Dittrich makes their BD38, a MP38 reproduction. The MP40 is similar in appearance, but construction details are different. MP40 was significantly cheaper and easier to mass produce. There is no mention of a BD40 on SSD's website.

An M1A1 is likely more relible than an MP40, if for no other reason than the M1A1 uses two position feed magazines, rather than the single positiion feed magazine developed by Hugo Schmeisser for the MP28. This magazine design was considered to be at the root of problems with the Lanchester, Sten, M3/M3A1, etc.

Not many have referred to the Beretta 38 and 38/42. These are outright superior firearms.

A friend of mine was in Vietnam, leading a Ranger platoon. he could carry any gun he wanted, and chose the Thompson M1. His reason was that it was 100% relaible; the 45 ACP punched through foilage well and that the 30 round mag gave a useful number of bursts.

One encounter he had was at about 10 feet.

+1 on the Berettas. They seem to get overlooked in most discussions of WWII SMGs despite their excellent two position feed magazines. I think I'm leaning more to one of these as my choice since my previous post.

If I'm not mistaken, the magazines for the Uzi are based on the Beretta design.

WELL

When you will try a PPSH-41, you will stay with this one.

I have try many SMG, and, I just think PPSH-41 is the best.
