White tail near Edmonton?

Hi there folks.

I am looking to bag a white tail this Fall. I live in Edmonton, and normally go near the Wainwright area, but never had any luck (or was a sucky hunter, or both).

Would you recommend any crown land in the 2-hour radius of Edmonchuck?

The various county offices should be able to supply land ownership maps. It may even be available on the internet.

There are some patches of public land but hunting pressure is very high. You're pretty much waiting for them to come off the private farmland.

We live in 348. I see 10+ deer every day on my way in to town, and at least that many more on my way home. They graze the lawn, and both my daughter and I got our Whitetail on the property last season. It's open here from Nov 1 - Nov 30 for rifle.
