The pic was taken the summer of 2005, my son in law took us up there one evening to shoot. As for directions to get to it, I don't remember, so maybe a local can help you out.

I've been there with Ted a couple of times. Nicest range I've ever seen with shooting out to 500yds. Very active range as well.

Whitehorse Range

Ted isn't pulling your leg! The range is close.........on a quiet and calm evening I can hear the sound of the odd rifle shot. Faintly heard in the back ground.:D
Access is on the Grey Mountain road which intersects Alsek road. Drop in for a coffee if your so inclined to track me down.

That's music to my ears RockChucker. I might take you up on the coffee, gotta check with my looser cousin first though, he suggested (as I feared) that I go sight in at a gravel pit  I land wednesday evening, we're taking off friday morning. Leaves me thursday to get tagged up.

Just checked the range schedule, Thursday evening is a public night! Not often very crowded.
May I ask where and what do you intend on hunting? Hunting season for moose, sheep and other hooved critters starts August 1 in the territory.

I'll be getting a moose tag for sure, maybe a 'boo. I'm hoping that I can talk him into taking me to a good bear zone. I know that moose season opens earlier, but we planned the hunt around the moose rut, a bit later. Might get a bit of fishing in too. I fished in a few places last year, got a bit of partying in too at Diamond Tooth Gerty's and the Zoo in Dawson. I hope that place is still standing.
