Whitetails in Princeton B.C.

I do wildlife damage claims on forage crops in this area and I can assure you that there are hordes of hungry Whitetails along the Similkameen running west into Princeton. You run into Mulies in the valley bottoms as well, but they generally prefer the higher, broken terrain while Whitetails like the bottoms.

Whitetails have made big inroads in southern BC. The Coldstream valley is lousy with them as is the Christian valley north of Rock Creek. Beaucoup whitetails around Bridesville as well.Remember, every one of those flattops you see is going to get bred this fall and there are some pretty nice bucks around to get it done.

Well I saw 26 mulie does on Monday and no bucks. That was low down near the Similkameen river where I have permission on private land. Saw maybe one WT doe in the dark driving back from another spot on Sunday.

Tuesday saw about a dozen trucks up high where the bucks were rumoured to be.

Heard 3 shots all day.
