Who’s still builds quality custom precision rifles ?

Badlands Precision - Medicine Hat, Alberta
Go Ballistic Gunsmithing - Star City, Saskatchewan
Insite Arms - Lloydminster, Alberta
Em Precision Rifles - Spruce Grove, Alberta

All quality smiths local to myself that I would recommend for a precision rifle build. Lots that shoot PRS matches in Canada have their rifles set up by these top 4.
Anything from Medicine Hat can't be bad. My grampa was born there.... a true original...

Because my mailbox will shoot like GoBalistic Gunsmithing for 1/3 the cost of Cadex.
The lack of understanding where accuracy comes from is astounding.
Welcome to CGN.
Doing understand the Mailbox analogy ? Maybe inexpensive and shoots great - Tikka sort of checks that box as well as others
Where do you purchase a Barrelled action with trigger and stock and brake for $2000
I have searched receivers alone and the Big Brand name units upward of $1700

5 pages, lots of words, but not a single picture of one of these wonder guns.

You guys deliver as well and as much as the liberals.

WOW

Harley built 7 magnum.

GB chambered the barrel (Benchmark MTU 300 wsm), in house brake and opened the R700 bolt face in '17 so I'll keep the cost to myself. It's a RKS Silhouette rifle built in 1982 bought used from Arnie Winder for $600. Vortex 6-36.
Also have a MdtHS3/Magpul UBR.

All three will hit a 3 inch circle at 1000 which simulates the Xring of the original 1000 yard BR target designed by long range hunters in 1966 still in use today.

No doubt a new slick action is faster. Less than a two pound trigger makes no difference.

Cheap new Savage $830 for the action plus barrel, brake is 2000. Oryx chassis $530.
Oops that's a fat 1/3 at $2530. The action from an old 700 will work just the same.

I've set up a new 600yrd range with a river bank backstop for less concern about field traffic since I knew damn well I would have to demonstrate this in person and let people take a them for a spin. IPSC targets at 3,4,5,600 with 1.5 inch milk jug caps screwed to a board sticking out the side once you zero for wind. The .25 small triangle centers of the Redfield targets are handy for 100.

Great looking group of Pill Slingers and especially like your range with the different land contours . Am jealous
Ok you have Inexpensive very accurate rifles .
I was thinking that a new rifle BUILD meant just that - New .
Getting into New parts to build a Tack Driver will cost more then $2 - 3000 . Imho

All new parts? I'd say 4-5K or more is more like it.

I agree .
I do own a .308 in TAC A1 and it's a great way to get into 1200yd and under long range . about $3000 .
Any Tikka and other brands in 6.5 cm will do the same thing .
I do not have the skill to hit MOA at 1000 yds with any of my rifles . Not often anyways :)
Am more then happy to have the Caldwell Flash Bang turn on when the projectile strikes my 30" diameter plate .

My first rifle I built was a cheap stock from the buy sell for $100, I think Ron Smith put a barrel on it for $650 iirc, started with a remington trigger $40 and I had a bat machine action $2k, but that could’ve easily been a rem700 for $750.

Chambered barrels have definitely gone up in price since then, but you could easily put together a 0.5moa single shot for $2000

Does anyone know who (if anyone) is still manufacturing the Heathen or Reddnobb brakes?

If I want a Heathen G2 or Reddnobb 420 do I just have to be patient on the EE or wait for someone else to start building/stocking something with similarly limited vertical jump and felt concussion? D:

There are plenty of brakes out in the wild that perform as good if not better as heathens IMO

Not as nice as one of Dennis rifles, but pretty good on a budget.
Happy to hear High praise of GO Ballistic and Dennis .
I am on his list when he gets time he is re barrelling a Tikka T3 22-250 to a 6 Dasher. 26" MTU contour i believe .
Any body need a 22-250 take off .
When i contacted Dennis about my barrel swap he was very helpful with lots of good answers to my questions .
Time line was going to be all about barrel availability and his real world job - maybe gun smithing and real job are equal
I could not resist the pull of owning a Dasher so bought a factory rifle to get by with until Dennis can work his magic with my T3 Action.
