Who all has a 2A / 2A1 ?

There are a few Sterlings, L8s, L39s, Envoys & L42s that would disagree with that statement.;)
 
Unsuccessful conversions were tested on the No1Mklll*s
Aussies did some testing too , which didn't fair well .
The No4 was obviously a whole different animal and proved to handle the 7.62n quite well.
The 2A/2A1 reciever is very "similar" to the No1 , but there are differences , not only with the steel alloy used , but subtle diff's in shape too.

Apology, I was working from memory, this does refer to the No.1 (SMLE) not the No.4, the No 4 as mentioned, there was there was the Sterling conversion kit, and L variants, just the No.4 had run its' time. The Indians managed to successfully convert the No.1 (SMLE).
