who bought THIS!? (K43)

I finally got the rifle yesterday. It's not what the seller said it was. It's a
AC45 'd' block. It has the 'sunburst' after the sn and electro pencil on the gas assembly and the action cover. It may be a forced match because the script is different on the actions sn vs. the floorplate and bolt carrier. The bore looks like new and the metal has a nice 'plum' colour. The stock is good with no cracks and has a bad coat of varnish. I'll post pics as soon as I get it cleaned up.

The floorplate or better known as the trigger guard assembly for the K43 were never numbered by the Germans - done postwar by the Russians. The Sunburst verifies that it is a VOPO Russian Capture.

Post some pics!

Sounds like it will be a good shooter since it is a VoPo rework with a nice bore. Not sure if you plan on shooting it or if you have seen this site yet, but I would buy one of this guy's adjustable gas pistons for your G43 so the action isn't demolished by the overpowered system.

I have one in my VoPo G43 and it helps ALOT. That and new springs and you should be good to go. (Maybe a mag too :p :dancingbanana: )

+1 on what steve said.
I recommend to shooters kit also.
If you plan on using it as a shooter, it will save you grief and major dollars looking for spare parts.
Many will say the today's commercial 8mm ammo is quite anemic compared to German surplus, but still, it's really not worth chancing, especially with a rifle as rare as this. Parts are hard to find and expensive as hell.
The shooters kit is well worth the money.

Pics Up!!!

YA! I gott pics!
Here are a couple of pics of my first K43. It originally had a heavy brown shellac that was flakeing. These pics are post cleaning. The cleanup revealed a 'x' stamp above the model and s/n. The barrel has a 45 date and the bore looks new. Unfortunatly all the 'Dirty birds' above the woodline were pingged out. There was no sanding done on my part. I'm curious what people think this things worth? I saw one like this at a show last year for $1800 and I thought the guy was out of his mind. Any thoughts?
Enjoy the pics. Mark
