Who can make/machine small parts?

OK, here is the issue. I recently picked up a TOZ 17 (Thanx again btw!) and I found a bit of a weakness in the design -

Yea, lousy pic, sorry; crackberrys take lousy closeups. Anyway. One of the two metal teeth that extract the case is wore down, so the case doesnt like to eject. I can take apart and reassemble the bolt easily enough, but I havent the tools to make a replacement part. Of course, I am going to check the local shops and I am pretty sure someone will be able to help; but I figured I would post it here as well, anyone know of a shop/group/individual with the fine tools to make such a piece? Its about 1/8" thick, 3/16" wide and 1 1/4" long, all guesstimates. Numrich does not list anything aside of the stock for any TOZ.

Any thoughts guys?

I don't think a part like that would be too difficult.
It will be a fiddle though and quite time consuming.

If it really is flat, I'd buy a piece of O-1 tool steel, rough it out with a saw, then file to finished shape.

You can easily harden and temper that steel at home with a torch and oil quench, then temper in the oven when your wife is out.

you may be able to file the inside of the extractor to create a new surface and allow it to move inward.

.... or (have someone) add metal to the extractors and then machine them to the original dimensions.

By the way, the photo - although fuzzy, as you already noted - doesn't make the extractors look too bad... My Toz 17 extractors were acting up, but dismantling the bolt, cleaning the parts, and a good lube fixed the problem.

Have you tried Western Gunparts in Edmonton? They sometimes have oddball stuff...

May be the ejector spring is too weak. Try seating a round in the bolt while it's disassembled and see if the sharp one engages over the rim. You may just need to remove a little material. (carefully, you can't put it back!)

Polar man - I did; it is in fact the extractor that is wore down and not fully biting the casing. The spring itself is fine. I even swapped the bolts between the TOZ17 and my trusty TOZ17-01 and found the 01's bolt having no trouble pulling the casing; where as the 17's even had some trouble pulling the casing from the -01's breech. And, looking real close, one can see the extractor is a bit chipped on one side. So, it needs the extractor done. Either way; I will see if i can get replacements made; once done Ill have a few spares made up.

For what it's worth, here's a diagram of Toz 17-1:

It does show different part numbers for the extractor and the ejector. The darn things do look alike, but they are different alright. Let us know how you end up fixing the issue.

For anyone not familiar with Toz 22's, they are simple, compact and light, the stocks are birch finished with lacquer and wood tar (thus the distinctive odor,) the metalwork looks like failed special-ed shop-class project, but they are very accurate, fun guns to shoot.
