Porting requires the right size and shaped 'hole' put in at the right angle. While any smithy with the proper rather pricey equipment(takes an EDM or ECM machine to do it properly. Most smithies will not have one. A mill will leave burrs in the barrel that have to come out before any shooting is done.), you'd be best to send it to Mag-na-Port in the States.
Plan 'B' would be to have an aftermarket muzzle brake installed. That requires the muzzle to be threaded and the brake screwed on. No special machines for that.
Just be advised that either will significantly increase the muzzle blast and noise.

Porting a barrel can be done by any knowledgeable smith. There are lots on this board and some are advertising sponsors. There is/was a magna port smith in Canada. See if you can find an access to firearms newsletter. They advertised in that.

Otherwise, contact magnaport and see what the dealer is.

The Ruger "Deerfield" ( 99/44) auto-loader AND Ruger ( 96/44 ) lever
44 Remington Magnums, have now BOTH been discontinued.

Too bloody bad about the Deerfield ,but the lever no big deal to me since I bought my Puma in 454 Casull.I wonder if the Deerfield`s demise was the lack of rounds it was able to carry ,as opposed to tube mags. on levers.Still, I hate to see good guns go the route of Dodo birds and mullets.

"...was a magna port smith in Canada..." There was. Closed long ago.
"...adds OAL to the gun..." Yep. About 2". The problem will be finding a .44 calibre brake.

I wanted to get my 300 magna ported but its not possible in Canada. I shoot of a harris bi-pod so i want to eliminate muzzle jump because i cant hold down on the bi-pod the same way as off the bench. I researched the brake thing to death and settled on a holland brake. No ports on the bottom so no dirt/leaves spray when shooting off a bi-pod in the prone position. Its short 1 1/4" so it doesnt add a lot of extra length and supposed to be very effective in controlling muzzle lift. My guns going to the smith to have the trigger done and this brake put on. Just do a search on holland muzzle brake.

I don't know anything about these guns but could you not angle drill the ports where you want them, then ream the muzzle back past the ports. I have done this in the past with a 35 cal. Mark
